Cognitive Restructuring.
1. Identify the negative thoughts.
2. Challenge and reframe the negative thoughts.
3. Practice and visualize away the negative thoughts.
4. Stay consistent and patient reprogramming your brain.
1 Corinthians 2:16b- “But we have the mind of Christ”
The things we continually think about will almost always lead to action.
If we want to change a behavior we have to change the thought that leads to it!
Romans 12:2a
Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
12:2b- Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Taking our thoughts captive means we are setting the guardrail where it needs to be set.

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (REJOICE) 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, presentyour requests to God. (REPLACE)
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will GUARD your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—THINK ABOUT SUCH THINGS (REFOCUS).
Before you dwell on a thought, ask:
Is it true or an assumption?
Is it pure or polluted?
Is it hopeful or defeating?
Does it line up with God’s Word?
9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Our thoughts are the most important factor in determining how we feel and what we do.
We actually have a thought before we ever feel an emotion!
Stinkin’ Thinkin’ is not your inheritance in Christ.
You have been given a new mind (Romans 12:2) and the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).
When a negative or anxious thought comes:
Catch it. Identify the stinking thinking.
Check it. Is it true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, praiseworthy?
Change it. Replace it with a prayer and God’s truth.
