Story Teller

Matthew 5:13-16

Salt and Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

why is our story worth telling? Because just like salt adds flavor to food our story…

-CAN ADD PEACE TO CHAOS,

-IT CAN ADD TRUTH TO CONFUSION,

-IT CAN ADD FORGIVENESS TO GUILT,

-IT CAN ADD COMPASSION TO PAIN

THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRITS POWER WE CAN ADD HOPE TO ANYTHING LIFE THROWS AT US

WHY IS YOUR STORY WORTH TELLING?…just like Light helps us see clearly, sharing our story…

-GIVES DIRECTION TO THE LOST

-IT SHOWS THE NEXT STEP WHEN THE PATH IS UNCLEAR

-IT BRINGS FOCUS WHEN THERE ARE DISTRACTIONS

-IT TURNS WANDERING INTO PURPOSE

Jesus never challenged us to become salt or light. He simply said that we are – and we are either fulfilling or failing that given responsibility

Whatever keeps us from being a storyteller has already been overcome by the Holy Spirit, SO we should live like that is true.

Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses (story tellers) in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Testify-give evidence as a witness in a law court.

Bear witness-serve (me personally) as evidence or proof that something exists or is the case.

The Holy Spirit equips us to make a difference, being a storyteller makes it happen.
