I want to be known. I want to belong. I want to be loved.
Love gave.
Love came.
Love moved toward us.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
Christmas has a way of exposing what our hearts truly long for.
God writes redemption where others write rejection.
Christmas is God saying to humanity: “I want you — and I refuse to leave you where you are.”
Love often enters where we least expect it
Love came in a Manger
Luke 2:
6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
God’s love is not repelled by mess — it’s revealed in the middle of it.
Love Moved toward Us
Matthew 1:23
“They will call Him Immanuel — which means ‘God with us.’”
Luke 2:10
“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all people.’”
Christmas is not just God reaching toward humanity; it is God entering humanity.
Love moves toward you
Luke 2:11
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.
Love invites you to Respond
Luke 2:15
“Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
Love is God's Answer…
...to fear, shame and aloneness
John 4:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Fear meets love in Mary.
Shame meets love in Joseph.
Isolation meets love in shepherds.
Confusion meets love in the wise men.
Darkness meets love in Simeon and Anna.
Sin meets love at the cross.
Wherever love goes — fear loses ground.
